1 Minute Mug Cake Recipes: 5 Easy & Impressive Mug Cakes Made in the Microwave

(Music) Gemma’s Bigger Bolder Baking
Microwave Mug Cakes Mug Cakes are great for so many reasons: they’re
really quick to mix, take seconds to bake, and they require no oven. I’ve spent the week
eating cake after cake all in the name of research to bring you guys the BIGGEST & BOLDEST
mug cakes out there. So let’s get baking! Or microwaving. Or microwave baking. Well,
you get it. Let’s just go. The first mug cake up is one of my personal
favorites: Funfetti! In a microwavable mug, add in your butter. And then gently melt it in the microwave but
don’t let it get too hot. To this we’re going to add in our sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla extract. And then mix well together with a fork. Next, add in your flour and salt and gently mix together. I’m using my small teacups so it’s bound to get a little bit messy. And of course the most important ingredient: sprinkles! And then gently fold them in. My little funfetti cake is ready for the microwave. And you will not believe how fast it’s going
to be. Each cake’s recommended cook time is listed
in the description below. Ta-da! It is so sweet. I just want to eat it. Nom. But we’re going
to have to wait until it goes cold and then we’ll top it with some frosting and we’re
going to make it all beautiful. Now it’s time to make our Funfetti Cake BIG
& BOLD with some Bubblegum frosting. I’m going to put a link in the description below of
how to make this, and if you guys really love Funfetti I really suggest you check out my
Funfetti Cake. Pipe your frosting on top and of course, it would not be complete without
sprinkles. Now it’s time for the taste test. It’s my favorite part. Mmm. This cake is gorgeous. Okay, now on to our next one. Our next mug cake is decadent banana and chocolate. In a microwaveable mug, we’re going to mash
up your ripe banana. Just use a fork. Next we’re going to add in our peanut butter
and mix it well. You can use any nut butter you want. Next mix in your little bit of sugar. And crack in your egg and mix well. Keep on mixing until you see the egg combine with the peanut butter. And then lastly add in your cocoa powder. I am making a bit of a mess in this tiny mug. Our chocolate mug cake is ready for the microwave. I know it’s just a few seconds but I’m so
excited. Our chocolate mug cake is done and it smells
gorgeous. This guy is best eaten straight away so I’m
going to lay some bananas on top and dig in. This chocolate is full of protein, gluten free and it tastes great! Now on to
the next cake. Mmm. Yum! If you like these mug cakes, then give this
video a THUMBS UP. And if you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE. Onto our next mug cake which is Red Velvet A lot less work than a big cake and just as
good. In a microwavable mug, add in your oil buttermilk, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. And then whisk these all together. To our wet ingredients, add in your flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, and a pinch of cinnamon. And then mix all these ingredients together. Our red velvet cake is mixed and ready for the microwave. I’m so excited! And our red velvet cake is done. It looks delicious. This is one big generous
portion. all for me or you. There’s only one thing you can top red velvet
with and that is cream cheese frosting. I made it in a previous video for Red Velvet
Cheesecake and I put a link in the description below. This red velvet cake is gorgeous. I can’t
believe it’s this simple. But don’t fill up on this because we have
more cakes to come. We are heading into fall, my favorite time
of year, so our next mug cake is Apple Crumble. Just like the others, combine your wet ingredients add your dry and then mix these together. You’ll notice this batter is thicker than
the others. To make your crumble topping, combine the
butter, flour and brown sugar with a fork. And then crumble it on top. Another mug cake ready for the microwave. This little cake smells like everything I
love about Fall. We’re topping it with my No Machine Ice Cream and some of my homemade salted caramel sauce. I know I’m going to love this because I love
apple desserts. This Apple Crumble is so good but you will
not believe what Mug Cake is coming up next. It might actually beat this one. This next cake was inspired by my very first
episode of Bigger Bolder Baking: It is Rainbow Cake! Start with a large bowl to mix your batter. To your bowl add your room temperature butter
and sugar and mix well. To this, add in one egg and mix in. Once your egg is mixed in, continue with the
next. Your mix should look like this and not curdled. Now add your vanilla extract and give it a whisk. To our wet mix, add all your dry ingredients and then gently whisk these together until
the flour is combined. To color our Rainbow Cake, we’re going to
divide the mix evenly between 5 bowls and put a dot of food coloring in each one: Red
Orange Yellow
Green and Blue! Now we have our colors ready to go let’s assemble our mug cake. In a microwavable mug, we’re going to add little spoons of cake batter all on top of each other The more small spoonfuls the more color you
can get in there. This cake actually triples in size so just
be careful what mug you mix it in. Now into the microwave! Rainbow cake in seconds. Can you believe this
came out of the microwave? To decorate our rainbow cake, I’m going to
top it with the same cream cheese frosting as I did for red velvet. Sprinkle rainbow crumbs on top for extra color. This is gorgeous! My favorite part of rainbow cake is taking
a spoonful and seeing all the beautiful colors inside because it’s
different every time. Now you have 5 BIG & BOLD desserts that will
impress anyone. Be sure to tell me your favorite mug cake
in the comments below. Thanks so much for watching. Don’t forget
to SUBSCRIBE to my channel and I’ll see you back here again next Thursday for more Bigger
Bolder Baking.

  2. Love your mug cakes recipes, have tried most of them and was wondering if you have a recipe book for sale? I've never been able to download your free one and the link to the one that says buy doesn't work either , the links always come back saying that page doesn't exist to subscribe to your emails which I already am subscribed. Thank you for all of your video recipes, they're great!

  3. Wow!👍Looks so easy to make!💝I really want to make all these mug cake!💞💕But,how degrees to make n how many minutes for each mug cake?

  4. I know I'm 5 years late to the party but I made the first one and it was frickin delicious, I'm eating it right now and it's perfect for a quick hot snack on a cold day. I've got a few tips:

I didn't have any baking soda and couldn't be bothered to run to the store to get it, so I just made it with normal flour, and not self rising flour. It still turned out delicious and rose to about double the amount of batter before microwaving. It might be a bit more dense than the cake would be with a leavening agent, but was still pretty fluffy in my opinion.

I had a pretty big mug so I didn't split the recipe into two mugs, I just used one large mug for the entire thing. If you do this you might have some raw batter that the microwave didn't get to, so when you get to that point you can just pop it back in the microwave for 20-30 secs.

I microwaved for 70 secs, but made sure to stop every 30 secs to make sure the cake wouldn't overcook.

  5. I made the chocolate banana one but i used almond butter instead of peanut butter and i used cacao instead of cocoa. I also added red velvet extract from bulk barn and made a icing with sprinkles for on top. I also added some vanilla to the cake and powdered sugar. It came out rich and fluffy. I put it in the micro for 1 min 40 seconds until it puffed up.

  6. that moment when you have everything but mother is here.. she won't let me use the microwave! and i dont know why!!! mother please…. i'm drooling with those cakes!!!

  7. I want to do the apple crumble but I don’t know what she means by put in ur wet ingredients like the others and the dry wich ingredients? This is not a hate comment just asking.

  8. Today I didn’t have any thing to eat so I made the funnfeti one and I loved it my parents also said that it was the best cake they ever had

  9. Hello Gemma, I just made the funfetti mug cake. When I took it out, it was cooked in the middle but not on the sides. And the more I cooked it, the more sticky and watery it became. It tasted good, but the texture wasnt. Do you know why this happened?

  10. But I still don't understand how long they have to be in microwave? How many minutes? I can't find answer in your comments, to many of them 🙁

  11. Can these be done in a regular oven as I do not own a microwave? I love the recipes……so good for a quick snack to cure a sweet-tooth!

  12. I don't exactly what u did and it didn't work on the first one. It's rubbery and hard, the taste is sugary tho, anyone help?

  13. mmm yumm! Question, may I? Is one whole egg not too much for a small cup like this? Someone did make those? Does it taste too eggy, or not?

  14. I tried this mug cake… It didn't work for me 😭..cames out very dry and hard… Any tips?

  15. Although I do admire and like Jemma, to me, the mug cake should be fast & simple to make (not a of ingredients, quick & easy) I don’t want to frost my mug cake, use different colors, etc. They look very good, but I ask might as well make a whole cake if I go through all that trouble. That’s me, lazy to the bone….

  16. First of all I didn’t know that we can bake cakes in microwave
Second that too in just 50 seconds
    Third I tried the recipe
Fourth it came out awesome and
Fifth now I don’t have to even give a second thought before going to bake a cake.
    Thank you so much.

  17. I did this but with a diffrent recipe with my dad,if you want it to look like a cake not in a mug put some Pam in the cup and do the recipe so it slips out

  18. Just made the choc banana one. I just did two bananas, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons cocoa, vanilla, 1/2 cup peanut butter, 3 tablespoons sugar. I just vaguely guessed. We sprinkled chocolate chips over the top and cooked in four tea cups for about 3 minutes. The kids devoured it. It wasn’t sickly sweet with chopped banana on top. It took seriously 5 minutes to get after dessert dinner prepped, cooked and served. This is such a winner idea! I look forward to trying more mug cakes. Thanks Gemma! You make things so easy!

  19. I came to your channel by accident , and l am happy for that because l love your recipes and the way you cook 😍👍 except you talking fast 😂😉, but you are so cute ❤️

  20. the sound on my computer doesn't work, so I am wondering what temp to cook on…I follow all the visuals quite well and this looks great EXCEPT it's hard to think that a fancy china cup won't get ruined after a couple of times in a microwave..????

  21. I really like your idea but my big disappointment is you give NO measurement . And your web page is so unfriendly it keep shutting off 🤔😔
