6D Helmets Has The BEST Motorcycle Safety Technology ~ MotoJitsu

what's up everyone fasted here so I just made it up to Los Angeles area and I'm about to go inside and meet up with the owners of 6d helmets and if you got a 60 Helmuth comm you can check out their helmets and all the cool stuff that they have inside of it and this video is just gonna be an educational video about the things that I learn and also be taking pictures of the video about what they tell me about what's so innovative and safe about their helmets so it's just a learning opportunity for myself and for all of you if you never heard of 60 helmets before then hopefully this video will give you insight and if you're in if you're in a place or you're in the market to shop for a new helmet then maybe you'll consider getting one of these helmets due to all the safety features that they have inside the helmet itself so I want to learn a bunch of stuff and I'll share with you my thoughts and then yeah check it out for yourself 60 helmet calm so stay tuned for our conversation this is Bob he's the main man behind all these awesome helmets and the whole technology and burning trying to do a brief summary of why I just learned for the last two hours and I'll give more about my thoughts when I get back home but he's just gonna go over the helmet the technology of choice in statistics tough and a couple of neat things that they have and if you look down here they're actually let me borrow on these helmets I'm gonna take one home with me it's the sixty helmets 80s r1r I'll take it with me for a couple weeks and I'll um I was right around and test it out and see what I think about it and then so next Wednesday will be the video of me talking about that helmet about what I think about etc etc and then for anybody if you go to sixty helmets and put in the promo code moto Jitsu yeah it gets will get an extra 10% off in ten percent off pressure Sam so I worked that in other so first I'm gonna mess it up if I try explaining this stuff is because I just know the basics so I'm not too smart right but you'll see it's it's amazing stuff so well great thank you for the introduction and thanks for summing up and spending some time with us today for those of you that aren't familiar with 60 I'm one of the founders we've been working on helmets now for about eight years we've been selling helmets for over six we started in the off-road community with our motocross product which was the ATR one what Greg's interested in here today is our street helmet the 80s one our it's on the water right now we've got the next delivery here in about a week and a half and that is the helmet cutaway that's in front of you so there's some evolution to the technology some of that work came from or was influenced by our ATR two motocross helmet that we entered introduced last year we further uncoupled the technology so it's a little freer to do its work and we were also were able to save some weight and make some other improvements on the 80s so we're looking forward to launching this helmet next month at Laguna Seca where we'll have a boot that they are to talk to anybody interested in learning more about our technology and learn any more about our helmets a couple of things I thought I might point out on a 60 we've got a two layer EPS system inside of our helmet which is effectively our omnidirectional suspension technology and what that does is it uncouples the outer shell of the helmet from the inner liner of the helmet or even in our helmet if you will so that it can displace in rotation and in compression under the onset of an accident or from the impact what that does is provides improved safety for the brain and less sharing and tension and brain loading in the event of an accident we worked really hard with Kyle Wyman is our professional road race racer that has helped us develop the product we also work very closely with Sammy Albert and Dan Bromley and a number of other professional racers Mikey rush and on improving and making sure that we've done a good job with the fit and finish and all the details of the helmet the ATS has a ten position ratcheting shell we have tear offs available it comes with a pin lock the helmet is aggressively ventilated and I think we've got a product here feature-wise that competes with anything in the marketplace and from a technology standpoint we're outperforming the marketplace by a pretty good margin depending the fiscal especially if you reference some of the specific test events that we share on the website and in the catalog so what you're looking at here is the blue line is obviously the 80s one in comparison to a couple of other premium competitors in the marketplace and you can see the different accelerations be it linear or angular based on the graphs here so I would just encourage you to take a look at the website and you know you can get all the information on sixty right there I just think like jump in real quick so just like you guys know people send me emails all the time about hey I got this cleaning product if I send you a box of the cleaning product he make a video about and all this crap and I've said it before in the other videos I have I'm not going to do that so learn reason why I'm here is just for myself to learn and get educated and leap parks you guys only league parks will control ball I talking all the time take those courses I teach his stuff he called me up he's like a media research 60 helmets it's like good stuff and leap Parks bought all the helmets good bicycle he's got one a motocross three he only rides with it and so Lee is my extreme men Tories my friend he's my mentor is my boss is in or second world so whatever Li says I want to research more about Louise talking about so if you can go talk to 60 and see what their technology is so I know I'm gonna oversimplify it but just think of the simple thing of you hit the ground right if it just has the ability to do this well obviously that's going to take away so much more of the impact of the energy us and go not to your brain now go into the helmet itself so just a simple idea like anybody can understand house and put them that's like that's obviously that's why we parks follow these helmets cuz it's so higher advanced technology thing else is doing so that's why I'm up here to learn about it so I'm just fascinated with all this stuff and you don't have to know much about all this stuff for anything but you just from the very basic just looking at it it's obviously safer it's all about how can I minimize my lot of damage if I actually crash the bike which may or may not happen not just at a faster speed but even just tipping over at the bike at ten miles per hour and you whack your head there's different levels of protection for different speeds right yeah not just one yeah our goal is we're trying to make the element more effective over a broader range of demands so our design is working at lower energies where another competitive or traditional style helmet design is maybe not starting to activate until you're further up the energy scale our system with the dampers that compress and the space in between the air gap that allows it to activate much earlier in the system I thought this was a pretty cool little prop this is actually one of the samples from the nfl's had helped challenge that our company won and in combination with our our test lab partners dynamic research we spent a year in a guided program where we were one of five companies that were selected out of over 125 engineering and helmet and material companies that applied for this grant we won the whole thing overall was a half a million dollar award and basically what it allows us what we were studying is multi impact materials per se something that might be using a football helmet or a hockey helmet for instance but one that sheers easily and that's you can see how easily this is you know sharing in in rotation but also it's very compliant and you can see I'm pushing Loic Low Energy it's working real nice here just by the compression of my fingers and then but this outer firm is much foam as much firmer so there was a lot of information that came out of this head held challenge and all of that is getting applied back into future things that we're working on here at sixty I know he just breezed over that bout of 120 125 companies a company you won yeah it was pretty cool they selected five of us and it was a one year competition on how we could take our technology which was a we were asked to provide a material to manage energy inside of an environment everybody knew we were working on a helmet project but five of us were accepted we got $250,000 to develop our process over the course of a year and then we were all in a final award competition for number one and we won the whole thing that's awesome yeah it was pretty cool so it's not just like I was saying um maybe 20 minutes ago it's not just you're a company that started in the garage and like oh we make helmet we should start in the garage right you know of course Amazon your mate but you know I mean like it's not just somebody else that's like all oh just make helmets and not be guilty the NFL how big is the NFL or how big is this it's a it's a big deal so that's why I'm up here and learning and educating and sharing the information with you so again just the website go to the website learn the information I think you know for those of you guys that might be involved in the off-road side you're probably aware of us sixty might not mean anything to you guys on the street side if you're not following offroad we've effectively changed the marketplace in helmets and you know we've got a very good technology and it manages energy better than traditional designs and that's what started this whole technology race with some of the other manufacturers out there and the good thing is everybody's trying to improve their helmets now nice at the end of the day that's that's good for everybody but we've got a pretty special helmet six T stands for six degrees of freedom and what that is it's an engineering term that just defines the ability to rotate and translate over any of the three Cartesian coordinates X Y Z X Y or Z coordinates right so it's basically that freedom for the liner to move in any direction well makes sense to me so I'm gonna take off I'm gonna grab the helmet I'm gonna ride around with it and I'll go practice with it tonight space it's a it's Thursday so next week will be my two-week video review of the helmet itself and then yeah but if you want to go pick up the helmet and you think this is a good stuff and you actually prioritize and you'd like to be now keep printed it'd be a good idea to grab on these things and go and just put in legit zoo and ulil until it will do the rest something but go to their website check them out and I'll let you know what the helmet I got the size and the wind and the weight and everything like that after I review it for next week's videos so thanks watching guys and uh I'll talk later perfect thank you what's up everyone so I just got back from uh sixty helmets and I'm gonna unbox ets1 are so uh you let me bother summit to wear and test it out for a couple weeks and then if I like it they had the option of using the Moto Jitsu code the promo code and get a discount to purchase it or if I don't like it then I'll send it back so that if you first open it up it just says a bunch of things about the helmet which is pretty neat and the two flaps right here talks about the ods technology that's nice I'm the directional suspension and let's see what we got only this it comes with the pack for peace and then what else in here oh it's just the Flyers all talking about so again just go to their website to look all these stats so statistics the testing done and you know you'll be able to see everything there's a picture of the interior to helmet yeah so go to the website to watch videos of the tests and everything they do more stuff to have there's that more information and then here's Bob's information so if you have any questions about the technology or whatever else you can just get ahold of him call them go to their website email them so you are that stuff that's actually free think that's not just a cheap feels pretty good and here's the helmet that I tried on so this is a large what else I got in here and stickers a bunch of other information all right all right yeah that's real nice it's not just a piece of cloth like you'd find in most other companies here's a helmets copy mercy cheap egg removals that's nice I was playing it when it comes with the pin lock and we got a bent up top bent in the front side to side this opens up and then you have a vent on the top right here I bent on the back and two vents on the side it's do tea and ECE and we've got the chin bar protector thing on the bottom here got the nose little thing up front and of course it's not as light as my client creoles carbon of course but on death but this one's a little bit heavier because of the styrofoam so this is a visual representation of all trying to explain earlier so this is how it's just so innovative and just so like common sense will tell you this is just extremely more safe than anything else so styrofoam styrofoam most helmets are just one layer of styrofoam so if you hit it and it compresses the styrofoam then it's done but it doesn't do much for glancing blow but there's no ability shift so it's like a helmet inside of a helmet here's the first layer and it has the suspension so you can see it could compress but the biggest thing is this motion so if you hit a five glance right it gets shift and take away all that energy before it gets transferred to your brain so that's the technology that they have so it's just a visual representation of it's pretty awesome there's that and you try it on real quick again yeah it's like feels nice and secure have lots of peripheral vision only from side to side let's see how easy this is the strap up and one thing I could tell them right away which is just a strap I know it's something little but it's not extremely long there's not a lot of extra room which is good it's just a amount used to be and usually this thing comes up really high and came the same thing but this is nice and low that feels really good it was really solid of a shield it doesn't feel like it's loose or flimsy is gonna come off but um and by the ears I'm noticing something I think it's um built in like this I think I read it on the website you have to check me on it and let you know but um yeah if you go inside and look in there there's there spaces opened up for speakers like I think they planned it to where it's opened up by the ear so you could put a speaker right there you don't have to like rip out the foam and try to stuff in there anything else so I'm gonna try this out and ride around with it and let you know I think if you have any questions about the helmet about the colors about d-o-t ECE what certifications they have what testing they do why they do it how they do it anything just go to the website or get a hold of Bob and um email them call them up and he'll let you know whatever you want to know so there we go I'm gonna try this bad boy out for a couple weeks now that's Laura know what I think next week thanks watching desert
