Are digestive problems causing your hypothyroid symptoms?

Hi I’m, Doctor Steve Puckette, I’m a board-certified chiropractic neurologist practicing in Madison, Wisconsin for more than 20 years If you’ve got hypothyroid and you’re taking the right medications and you still have the same symptoms of low-energy, cold hands and feet, Fatigue, brain fog, hair thinning and falling out, constipation, mood swings all of that stuff You’ve still got that even though you’re well medicated Then what’s going on is that the drugs they’re giving you the medications are giving you they’re getting in there doing your job But there are six pathways that happen and one of those is not working One of the other pathways has to happen is not working One of the most common ones for this is the digestion to be off And so what happens is the hormone that comes out of your thyroid gland in a healthy situation That hormone goes into the liver and the guts and it gets turned into an active hormone That’s the part that actually does what you care about that T3 is what it is that gets converted here in Health if you’re not healthy you get the hormone either from your own gland or you take the medication It goes into the body. It still has to go to the liver and the digestion and turn into T3 the good stuff you’ll have all the same symptoms if this doesn’t happen, so if you’ve got Toxic load on your liver if your livers working really hard on other problems if your digestion is off if you’ve got gas bloating Constipation diarrhea any of those problems? You’re not going to do this job Well of turning the hormone into the active stuff So if that’s what’s going on you need to get some tests run find out what’s happening for you here that’s keeping you from actually turning the medication into what you need I hope this helps you understand what’s going on and pass this information on to somebody else who needs it. Thanks a lot!
