Expecting Wellness Episode 2

hi everybody this week's blog post is going to be on how to stay cool during a theme park trip in the middle of summer so this weekend my husband and I had an opportunity to go to Epcot at Disney World we were going for a brother-in-law's 30th birthday but also to have a little baby moon and have some fun ourselves so the first night we were there we made a stop and went to Disney springs which is one of our favorite things to do so while walking around was a little bit curious as to what I was going to be able to do so I'm 17 weeks this week so obviously we're not drinking any alcohol and I'm kind of looking at different food options but I knew I was gonna splurge this weekend one of the coolest things we saw at Disney Springs was literally everywhere we want had non-alcoholic cocktails or would make you anything you wanted so it was really nice to be able to indulge a little bit and have fun with my husband but still be able to get something that I could actually drink one of my favorite things was a mojito or a mojito or we called it a Mohit oh we found at JA flicks Joc Lindsey's hangar bar it was really cool down in Disney Springs we got to sit inside of a dive tank and I got a mojito without any alcohol in it it was great the next day we went to Epcot and I was a little bit nervous because it's a hot day well you're pregnant watching your body temperature is really important just to make sure that you're not increasing your body temperature which in turn kind of cooks the baby if you think about it internally so we are really looking at how to keep me cool throughout the day considering where we're gonna be walking a lot it's also Orlando in June so I believe the high for the day was like 96 and sunny so whoo that being said we started our morning relatively early about 10:30 in the park by 10:30 we made our first stop in Mexico because everybody wanted to get some tequila and the tequila came to start the day off I was a little unhappy with the service there in the tequila cape this time they wouldn't make a non-alcoholic margarita and their only option to me was sodas so I had water in some ginger ale couple sips but this sugar I was a little bit worried throughout the day if it was going to get too hot so kind of skipped on the sodas as we went for it through the rest of the day but we did find a lot of places throughout the countries that had some kind of mocktails that I could drink actually found in Morocco that since it is a full bar that they were able to kind of make me something special so they made kind of like a their own sprite I guess like a seltzer water with some lemon and lime in it and at least it came in a cool glass and you know kind of made me feel like I was part of the rest of the group let's talk about some tips and tricks about staying cool when it's 96° and sunny out so water is your number one friend we but a water pretty much as soon as we got into the park most stations only have Dasani water bottles but Norway actually has Voss water which I prefer over the Dasani everywhere else so I was able to get a bottle of that now the water fountains kind of sketched me out a little bit everybody gets really close to them so I tried to stick away from him so every time we stopped in a country or went to another bar I would order a water and pour that water into my Voss bottle so by the end of the day I think I'd drink probably six or seven of those like 18 ounce bottles so water is gonna be number one I'm keeping you cool number two is gonna be stopping so add up cut you're running around the country is everybody's running around grabbing from each spot so we kind of were able to slow down the group to stop sit and enjoy their drink before moving on to the next country it helped kind of keep everybody a little bit slower and cooled down throughout the day but significantly helped me so I was able to find air-conditioning everywhere we went so the day kind of turned into hopping from air conditioning air conditioned to air conditioning and surprisingly it wasn't too difficult down in Mexico inside you you get while you're inside the pyramid it's really cool nice and air-conditioned the next step is Norway they have a couple boutique shops you can look through they even have a little Museum that's all air-conditioned so we spent a little time in there well the guys we're finishing their drinks from the stand before after Norway I believe was China and in China they have huge shops and you can walk fall through so being able to kind of walk through the shops at least it was nice and cold China also has a show so if you need to take a break and sit down for a minute you can watch the show for a good 20 30 minutes moving on from there I believe was Germany now Germany is a huge indoor restaurant so if you're looking for lunch they have a huge salad bar and buffet so if you're looking for something a little bit healthier as well as similar to sit and enjoy the air-conditioning that's one way to go the other way to go is they have a wine cellar that it is very cold and it's kind of dark so we kind of hid in there I had a cheese plate well everybody drink their wine but at least it was nice and cold I believe after Germany you move on to Italy which Italy also has a wine cellar and we actually sat down and had some snacks there so even without going into one of the sit-down restaurants you could still kind of go inside and get some air auditioning from there is Japan again huge store so we were able to walk through and enjoy all the nice cold air they also have a let out a scream and mochi as well as like ice pop snow so you can enjoy a lot of cold treats as well moving on we went to France and in France les shops it's not as busy but they do have a very large indoor bakery so you can grab a snack and some more water and have a seat inside enjoy the air-conditioning for a little bit there after France you move on to England the guys of course wanted to make a stop inside the Rose and Crown pub so they had a drink and they actually had some non-alcoholic beer so that's where my treat was for the day I was able to get a little bit of beer with the guys as well as have another glass of water and enjoy the air-conditioning our last stop was Canada if you're going to the left around the world and in Canada it's Canada so everything is cold but then they also have a movie theater so you can go and hang out in there and watch the movie I think it's like half an hour somewhere to sit somewhere to stick cold and then the third store they have where you could get some Powerade and water and kind of refuel so that was the trip around the world America is kind of under construction so we made a quick stop there but didn't spend too much time there so other than bouncing from air conditioning to air conditioning some other ways to keep cool or to wear really light clothing I wore just a light tank top and jeans shorts with gym shoes because feet are swelling it's hot outside gym shoes are just so much more comfortable than sandals or anything else we also brought some of those cooling towels you you get them wet you wring them out and then you can put them McCarron your hands you can strap them around your belly if you wanted we got really lucky and the first half of the day was cloudy so we ended up not really meeting them we didn't spend too much time in the Sun which was great the last thing to think about while you're traveling around the world or at another theme park is to really listen to your body I noticed towards the end of the day I started feeling heavy can crampy just uncomfortable and that's when you know it's time to go I wouldn't push anything longer than that if you feel uncomfortable just leave it's not worth it nothing's worth it to you know injure yourself or the baby that you're growing because you want to have fun with some friends those are just some of my tips and tricks on how to stay cool at Disney definitely look around for fun drinks to have and lots of water if you're drinking a sugary drink make sure you're counteracting that with water and really keep your body cool as the day goes on if you like what I'm saying have any input please feel free to make comment you can also message me on my Instagram which is expecting underscore wellness and I look forward to creating another video for you guys next week
