hi everybody today's video is about well-being and over the next six to 12 months you'll see me do other videos about the subject of well-being is such a broad subject I'm on the learning journey about well-being and I think we all are so today I'm going to kick off and talk about positive affirmations so what are they so day to day you we think loads and loads of thoughts hundreds of thousand differents different thoughts and we have a voice which we carry with us all the time and sometimes that voice can be really really positive but also sometimes that voice can be negative and it's like living with two different people and typically who do we want to live with and we want to live with a positive person so what positive affirmations are is trying to influence how you feel so for example you're driving to work something crosses in front of you or you're trying to turn a Junction and you're really frustrated in that situation you've got two choices you can say something quite rude about the driver well you could say actually things are going to be ok that person's needs to go somewhere so we have choices about what words we use internally and we can also use positive affirmations externally in sense of saying them out loud and I'm going to talk more about that during this video positive affirmations are really really good for you because we want to feel good about ourselves and sometimes we get that from our friends our loved ones but a lot of the time we have to be kind to ourselves so white positive affirmations are good for you is it reinforces to yourself that things can be okay so for example you've got an exam or a driving test a good way or a good technique is to confirm what you want to happen that day so a positive affirmation for that could be I want to cast this driving test today I'm going to really do well I'm going to smash it a Mac will sit in your subconscious as a positive thought it's like three people have come up to you and given you positive confirmation that you're going to do well that's a beam you've got the power to do that yourself positive affirmations impact everybody whoever wants to go to a party for somebody who's miserable nobody and white positive affirmations really matters because you have a chance to express yourself to other people so you could be in a team situation and something goes wrong like that the computers crash or somebody gets a really nasty complaint from a customer the power of a positive affirmation would be saying look guys we've learned something about this this will be okay the system is going to be up and running soon we can do something positive in between that maybe we can have like a team chat about what we're going to do today outwardly talking positively affects other people it's contagious people like being around people or a positive it's a fact yeah for my experience positive affirmations have helped lift me when I felt a little bit down or a little bit vulnerable and I think it's good feeling vulnerable because it tells you who you really are but sometimes you need to pat yourself on the back and occasionally I will do that when I feel like maybe I'm not doing enough or I'm not not my best sometimes I'll say to myself Justin are you trying your best yes are you trying to help other people yes do you care about the people yes and I try to reinforce when I have doubts but I am trying my best and for me that's a really powerful tool for getting me through life life comes at you at different angles things happen so you can't control and it's accept and you can't control there and also then being positive about it so my favorite positive affirmation is we're gonna put on an all sortsa nigga accent is i am strong a little sauce nigga he is a great example of somebody who does positive affirmations you listen to that guy and he is so positive he thought he was the best body builder in the world he thought he could be the Governor of California and he did it and I think I am strong is quite an empowering statement to say to yourself as long as you don't take it to the point where you think you're the best of everything reinforcing that you're strong or that you can do your best and that you can win and that you can succeed is a very powerful positive affirmation so my favorite one is I am strong thank you for watching today's video about positive affirmations I just want to leave you with three actions and that is really to choose maybe a positive affirmation each day over the next three days which you could use and and practice them so pick three that would that would be my actions for you awareness Monday is a great day to start typically assume ins weed out like Mondays when we're working a great day to start positive affirmations is on a Monday so for example today and this week it's going to be great I'm in control of what I'm doing I'm gonna win I am strong enjoy
