Improve Your Health Before You Start Testosterone

today I'm gonna be going over improving your health before you start testosterone so how you guys doing I hope you're doing well if this is the first time you ever seen me on your screen make sure you hit that subscribe button down below to see more of my face so this was a suggested video the current for this was left on my previous video and my plan was to film a video on carb cycling but I really like this suggestions so I put it to an insta poll and it was actually super close but at the time of filming this this video is winning on the poll were like a slight amount so next week I'll film the carb cycling video but I thought this week I'll do this one so in terms of health I know that there's kind of like two parts to help you've got your physical and your mental health I may only going to be focusing on like the physical side of you know being healthier pre-testosterone and obviously there is like a huge mental part or like mental health part that plays a role before you start testosterone so if you want me to go over that and then let me know down below so I'm going to be covering four main topics and those weight nutrition supplements and skincare so I'm going to jump right in and start off and talk about weight now every gender clinic around the world is probably gonna have slightly different criterias for what they want you to meet before you start testosterone but everything that I talk about in this video is very much the general guidelines the chances of them not caring about these things is very slim and it's mainly just general health and all of those kind of things so this video should apply to everybody regardless of your gender my neck or your location so the two biggest things regarding physical health you're gonna see and hear about all your BMI and your blood pressure now the BMI side of things generally applies more to people that want to be referred for surgery most surgeons won't operate on you if you have a BMI that's higher than 30 so this isn't directly linked to testosterone some general links we'll care less about the beer may be my side of things sorry but obviously the chances are I can start almonds there's probably at least one type of surgery that you want to have as well so I just like to put that in that BMI surgeons are very unlikely to operate on you if you have a BMI higher than 30 so your BMI BMI stands for body mass index and BMI is a better footing one because every year it kind of becomes more and more updated in the sense that we are starting to realize how there are so many people that BMI doesn't really work for somebody who is very very short and has a very very high level of lean muscle will actually come up as overweight when it comes to BMI but obviously the chances are they probably got a very fat low body percentage and they've just got tons of muscle and then when you kind of work that out of against that height on a chart you would think that they were overweight Baba see if you were to see them in real life they clearly are not overweight and are actually in very good physical shape and so BMI tends to only work with standard people which I hate saying but it doesn't work for everyone so if you're very muscular and you work on a BMI and it says that you're overweight you are actually overweight it just BMI probably isn't gonna work for you so I know I said that most surgeons won't operate on you if you have a BMI over 30 but general criteria when it comes to BMI is that you shouldn't have anything higher than kind of 24 to 25 and I believe the lowest is 18 if you've below 18 then that means you are weight I believe and then obviously like I mentioned the second thing is a blood pressure blood pressure and gain just general health your blood pressure says a lot the standard kind of healthy range to be in is 120 over 80 and the very highest is 140 over 90 regularly checking your blood pressure isn't you know it's not a bad thing to do particularly if you are overweight or you have a very body fat percentage so you've worked out that either one or both of those two factors are too high though your first step is of course going to be looking at weight loss the good thing about this is that you don't need to do two separate things to alter both of those weight loss on its own will sort out both of those two things so if you lose weight your BMI will drop and if you lose weight then your blood pressure will improve so obviously losing weight is good for just general health but what a lot of people don't think or realize is that when you start this Australian that chances are you will gain weight people seem to kind of have this delusional idea that if you start testosterone all of a sudden you will become absolutely ripped you know your body fat will just completely redistribute and mean that you've got this absolutely incredible six-pack all of a sudden and it is so far from the truth those two things gaining muscle and building up a six-pack require just the same amount of effort as they did before you around testosterone the only real difference is is that now because of your fighting that was a T building muscle becomes I don't want to say easier I suppose technically it is easier you still have to put in the same amount of effort it's just that you will get more muscle back from that effort that you put in everything as well that a lot people don't realize is that to begin with you will put on weight probably in a negative way because what happens is and this happens to me this happened to a lot of people that I know and your hunger level has become so high that you are constantly eating crap I was filling myself up on sugar I've been very honest about this in the past I became basically overweight and this is at a point where my training was exactly the same as it is now I was still training five or six days a week but the nutrition wasn't where it should be and that's where I gained weight you can work out as much as you want but if you want to nutrition isn't where it should be you're going to gain weight and I became overweight I know a lot of people that also had the same thing because you're eating more your body can't cope with it and it's sort of this weird crossover point of your body learning that it needs that extra food but also as well you learn to control the hunger and all of a sudden mentally you don't feel as hungry all the time there's a bit of a crossover phase but like I say the chances are you will end up putting on some weight but I came out the other side everybody else came out the other side it's nothing to worry about but it is something to consider and that has another reason to lose some weight now so then if you do end up putting some more on in the future number one you know how to lose it because you've already lost weight before but also when you've added on that new weight you no longer heavier you've just gone back to what you were before does that make sense okay so nutrition I know I basically just covered that a second ago but this is so important in terms of weight loss I just said a minute ago you could work out five six days a week but if your nutrition isn't where it should be ie you're not in a calorie deficit then you're not gonna lose weight so how do you work out a calorie deficit I have done a huge video on calories and macros before so I'll link that up of me but if you just take five ten minutes to go over this video and work out your calories which will then help you work out macros and you should be all good to get a few of our little basic nutritional steps that I like people to kind of implement and is a good way to just make healthier smaller changes which will add help to the bigger changes is to do things like drink eight glasses of water a day and once you can manage to do that by yourself kind of like a big bottle maybe like a two liter bottle and just sip on back throughout the day making sure that you're getting playing your fruit and veg and I people will talk about five a day I mean if you're going from you know eating like one piece of fruit they eat in five in one day so a lot of people is actually a lot so welcome to it slowly do it so that it's maintainable and just be consistent with it and I know that this isn't technically nutrition but it is something that I wanted to throw in there and that is sleep sleep is important for so many reasons and it's important to everybody all you have to bear in mind is when you start testosterone you become a bit of a teenager again and you know you're gonna want to stay up late you're gonna just go back into those lazy habits of being a teenager so if you can kind of implement a sleep routine that you can try your hardest to transfer over when you have kind of gone back to being that lady teen again and that's going to help a lot so aiming for minimum of seven hours of sleep a night everyone's goes on about the eighth rule like the eight-hour rule eight hours is great but if you can hit seven hours to begin with us thus that's perfect okay supplementation obviously I'm not about to sit here and list a ton of like supplements like whey proteins in creating that's not what this is about this is purely about kind of like I suppose what you call it life style supplements ie a multivitamin so a multivitamin isn't just for people that are about to start to Susteren or any kind of hormones I recommend everybody in local takes a multivitamin unless you've been told different you buy someone has in like a doctor a multivitamin the best kind you can get is one that will say something like A to C because that is basically everything that your body needs in one little pill all you have to do is take in the morning it's that I take like 30 seconds it's that simple so the benefit of obviously taking a multivitamin is that you're getting in all your vitamins and minerals every single day so if there's days where you miss out and get in it free food or actually you're just not eating a varied enough diet then that multivitamins gonna be there support you as well obviously it's not a substitute doesn't mean that you can take a multivitamin and not eat you know like green foods carry on doing that as well but what you have to bear in mind is that if you eat a banana say for example not every single vitamin or mineral is in a benign there's some listeners and minerals in there there's not every businessman in Merrell so if you're taking a multivitamin then you're covering all bases and then finally skin I wanted to throw this in there because I had a lot of problems with my skin when I started testosterone and it got me super down and I've spoken about this before I think I spoke about two in my two years on tea video it's gonna be very down I find it very hard to deal with because I went from a place of never having any kind of acne or skin problems I had like the odd spot here and there a few blackheads and then all of a sudden I got hit with full-blown acne and it was a lot to deal with you start soy sauce throwing your oil production heightens and so the chances are even if it's ever a little bit you will get some athlete it tends to last from area between one to two years I believe mine lasted probably about a year actually so I've still got a little still got bits now but this is nothing compared to what it was before my advice to you is to get skincare routine nail now so that you're not only implementing it once the acne has been good you don't need to do anything crazy at all there's only really two products that I would tell everyone to buy and that's quite simply a face wash and I'm washed erisa if you use those twice a day morning and night and also if you go to the gym I myself I do end up using it three times a day because I'll wash my face in the morning go to the gym kind of morning afternoon watch my face again after that and then in the evening and so two to three times a day exfoliators as well are something that people like to implement now a lot of people don't understand exfoliators or stripe facial strokes so to keep it very simple there are two types of facial scrub you've got chemical and physical exfoliators physical exfoliators are the ones that basically hum up the little bits in and it's basically a good face wash with bits and I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about because that is what most people think of as a scrub and these actually aren't that ideal because most of the time they're farty were from the skin and if you've actually got live acting at the time it can just make it way worse and it doesn't help that much so the best thing you can actually do is invest in a chemical exfoliator so I will actually link mine down below and mine is by cos rx it's a Korean brand there's plenty more on the market that you can try but I've been using this one for years I use it kind of every day / every other day in the evening and it is just far nicer to the skin so if you are just gonna go become an exfoliator that's fine so at the end of the world but I would recommend that you only use that one to two times a week maximum if you've got very oily skin and particularly if you have got a live breakout because it's just gonna irritate it and make it worse another nice little thing as well as if you do have some live acne some tea tree oil just a few little drops on it will help to soothe it you don't need to go over bore put it on your entire face because that's gonna dry out your face which leads me on to the final point when it comes to skin care probably the most important point more than anything and people always taken aback when I say this and that is do not under any circumstance buy a product that is targeted towards oily skin if you have oily skin I you probably may be like what the but I learned this the hard way and it actually makes everything ten times worse in fact no it makes things a million times worse because what happens is by using products that dry out the skin and take away that oil your face will then try and make up for by producing even more oil to replace the oil that's been taken away and I was doing this for months I'm not realizing that I was making it ten times worse and guess what happened someone told me this and I stopped using those products and hey my acne started to get better so I beg you please don't use products that are targeted towards or your skin if you have blue and like acne try and use products that are not gonna increase the whole production because I guarantee you it will make it worse and it did for me I wish someone told me sooner because my face is red wrong all the time and it was sort of my own fault so yeah that is everything on improving your head off before you start testosterone really a lot of the things that I mentioned are just basic things to do for everybody but when you're starting
