What doesn’t work about the way we think
about diets classically is that we think about them short-term. Lifestyle changes have to be comfortable. Any chronic disease management has to be comfortable. It has to be something that you can do forever,
that accommodates and adjusts. Another struggle that our patients might go
through is that they have trouble converting from dieting all the time to living their
life.Because really it’s your quality of life and having a healthy lifestyle that is
supportive of a weight where you can sustain. When you’re looking at managing weight long
term, you have to really consider a diet plan that you can sustain, a diet plan that’s
realistic, and ultimately one that you can enjoy.
