so welcome on there like I said I want to talk about what is wellness what is not I also want to talk a little bit about the illness to wellness continuum so I can illustrate what wellness is and what it looks like in our lives and then I also want to talk a little bit about the type of wellness that I incorporate in my life that helps me to quiet the chaos in my mind you like my hair bows it thank you alright how appreciate hey bud hey thank you oh my boos on okay y'all so let me get started already so one start off by saying again for everybody who's just joined happy wildflower Wednesday and of course you know I have to have a shameless plug of my book worrying to wellness mindset it's my journey from her warring mindset to a mindset of wellness all right so what is not wellness that's what we'll start off with so hey already there cuz I can alright so wellness is not a one-time solution it's not a one-time it's not a pill that you take in order to sell your life changes that's not wellness another thing wellness is not it's not a one size fit all it's not my vision of wellness is not going to look like somebody else's vision of wellness because in wellness itself it's just different dimensions and for me I particularly like to focus on five dimensions of wellness which is our emotional wellness our mental wellness social wellness our physical wellness as well as our spiritual wellness and when I say dimensions of wellness and you can kind of correlate them with the dimensions of our lives because that's exactly what we need to work on so once again what's the last thing that wellness is not the last thing waters is not is not a replacement for health check-ups and seeing your doctor regularly that's not what wellness is so if you decide that you want to embark on a life of wellness still get your health check-up you know what I'm saying because that's all important for our physical health so what is weld is not that I told you guys what wellness is not all righty so wellness is a choice made every day a choice made every day to leave them on a healthy life in the dimensions of our lives it is a proactive not reactive so we're not waiting to situations happen to react is a proactive and intentional lifestyle based on a foundation of self-love and so care so we're healing ourselves through self love and we're healing ourselves through self care through my journey I realized that I always put myself second so in my life I allow other people to put me second but through wellness I was able to find self love and self care and find the strength to put myself first because ultimately that's who's gonna save us it's ourselves all right so to illustrate the illness to wellness continuum because on the opposite end of wellness we have illness right so John Travis medical doctor he created an illness to waters continuing to try to illustrate what that looks like in our lives and now illustrate it for you guys so illness to wellness it's a straight line right so on one side you never see that all right so on one side we have illness the other side we have wellness so in our lives and we're not actively doing things to move towards wellness then our body is the older that we get we're automatically moving towards illness automatically because as we age you know understand as our bones progressed that's just how it goes now if we do nothing right there's a neutral point in the middle and that's what we call homeostasis that's where our body tries to maintain internal stability right but my other thing over here on the illness side if we're not working towards wellness what's over here on illness is premature death right and we don't want that so in our lives we want to move towards this way towards wellness and how do we do that right we can do that through interactive wellness interactive wellness is a way that I incorporated wellness into my life so therefore it is not a task that I have to like make sure I check off at the end of the day I want it well this would be something that we've incorporated in my life every single day you know hour by hour is something I can learn so what is interactive wellness interactive wellness encourages individuals to get up and get involved in the fight for your well-being because like I said if we're not moving towards wellness if we're not making decisions to move to our wellness in our lives we are automatically moving towards illness automatically so if you're not going you know change out your physical wellness you are automatically moving to watch physical illness with things like heart disease cardiovascular bone disease and stuff like that so in the different dimensions of life as well as the different dimensions of wellness we need to make choices to move towards wellness so therefore we have a higher level of wellness which will maintain our bodies and our minds over time because like for me I'm trying to preserve my mind for my great-grandchildren I want to be a lifer and I also want to build something to leave for them so another thing that interactive wellness is it empowers an individual to take charge of their dimensions of wellness of their lives by creating new effective and healthy behaviors and lifestyle changes so once I say healthy behaviors healthy behaviors start with a change of perspective and a change in thought because for myself some people say I was angry at some point but I was angry because I didn't know how to unpack my emotions and my feelings and I didn't know what to do with them so I kind of built this you know defense mechanism and it worked for me for a little while until I realized I got to a point in my life where I no longer had to just survive then now I had to thrive and I had to figure out how to do that and wellness was a great way to help me do that and the last thing that wellness is it lays the foundational for it lays a foundation sorry on for intentional living right what is intentional living intentional living is consciously focusing on human traits and circumstances that lead to optimal mental and bodily functioning and aid and thriving right so that is intentionally when you wake up in the morning intentionally say you know what today I am going to go work out santé intentionally today I am going to meditate I am going to Kremlin do my yoga I'm going to do something for me I'm going to participate in self love and self care and that's basically the foundation of what wellness is it is waking up intentionally making healthy decisions for yourself as well as your family because if you take care of you the better you can take care of the people behind you and the better you can take care of the next generation all right so today I talked about what wellness is not what wellness it is a little bit about the illness to wellness continuum created by dr. John Travis that's all right and then I talked a little bit about interactive once and how I incorporate it into my life lastly I have this quote I want to leave you guys with um so the quote is behind me is infinite power before me endless possibilities around me is boundless opportunity why should I fear so quick story more than 100 years ago runners tried to break a four-minute mile right doctors wrote articles in medical journals saying that it was impossible that then no one could do it but in 1954 a British medical student random out in 3 minutes and 59 seconds and since he broke it it isn't broken over 700 times the moral of that story is don't let somebody tell you that you can't do something don't look around and trust circumstances and think because these are your circumstances now then you cannot break barriers that you can't obtain your goals you can't obtain your dreams because that would be alive so don't allow other people to tell you what you can't do inside of all of us we have a thing called intuition and it tells us you know what's right what's righteous and what's passion for us what's purpose for us follow that and I guarantee you you would be great alrighty so that will wrap up our metal talks for a wild flower Wednesday and I want to let you guys know that a dream is a wish made by the heart never stop dreaming follow your heart follow your mind and make sure you'll check out my book waring to wellness mindset warned to wellness mindset in my book it is available now for pre-orders we're gonna try to have out by next week we are working on getting them out this is just the first proof copy we have just a couple more edits to make to it but we're trying to have him out by next week go place your order wildflower wellness.com wildflower wellness calm Thank You Q and thank you everybody who joined today I'm gonna try to give you guys more live videos more wellness awareness love you guys have a great day like comment share dueces peace out
