The Centre for Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences in the School for Policy studies focusses on research on exercise, nutrition, physical activity and public health. Our MSc has around 40 students every year and they all come from different backgrounds. Some students come directly from their undergraduate studies and others are already working professionals. This creates a very unique teaching environment which students are able to exchange not only scientific knowledge but also practical experiences. We really try and focus on the science of behavior change and how we can understand what motivates behaviours.. How we can work with people to change those and how can really work at multiple levels so, individual, community and social levels. We have case studies, problem-solving activities… We have group presentations and scientific debates. Also we promote teamwork and this is something that all employers look for in the future. More than 80% of our students are employed full-time in research positions or public health positions, as consultants for example… or in actual policy positions. In the recent government Research Excellence Framework, we ranked as the number one research group in the UK. If you come study with us, you’re studying with the world leaders. It’s a unique MSc with a diverse cohort of students, with great career prospects in a lovely city.
