Research into Food Safety at Clarkson University

we are interested in sensors that can detect the certain chemicals that indicate food quality and safety markers in food products for example meat or fish or juices that will tell us whether they are safe to eat whether they are still conserving their properties or if they are degrading something that it's more quantitative than the expiration date on a label so we can look at this technology as a safe label we are engineering a paper surface essentially with some specific chemicals nanostructured materials that have a built in mechanism to respond and change properties when they are in contact with markers for food safety and quality control as well as food grades there are chemicals that are coming out of food the certain amines or or something radical so these are exactly the markers that we are analyzing one particular sensor that has polymers that responds to heavy metal for example that's the blue color lobsters then we also have sensors that changed way yellowish or brownish colors that incorporate enzymes so enzymes are very specific and they will track these these chemicals that are indicate or so through the safety I would love to see it in the commercial figure I would like to see people using it I would like to to see it and how also people in the water I would like to move it on to industry and and make it a dream essentially or reality is something that that is a product that it's accessible to everyone
